tenScriptAid4 Diagnostics
When moving from HS3 to HS4, HomeSeer made significant changes to the Parent/Child devices approach - Parents are now Devices and children are Features. Controls are now intended to be only on Features.
Because many HS4 Devices (both parent and child) were migrated from HS3, HS4 still supports a parent (Device?) having controls. Many people have reported issues with migrated Devices and plugins and even some Devices/Features created by HS4 plugins -- resulting in incorrect Parent/Child (or is that Device/Feature) linking.
A Device Diagnostic function has been added to tenScriptAid (Version 4.35) that attempts to identify multiple Device/Feature configuration problems. To run the diagnostics, hold the CTRL key down while starting tenScriptAid or you can start tenScriptAid4.exe with a command line containing the word Diagnostic. This is most easily done by creating a shortcut to tenScriptAid4.exe and editing it to add the command line.
Results of a diagnostic scan of your Devices/Features will be displayed on the screen and written to a CSV file on the Desktop. The tenScriptAid4 debug log will also contain additional messages.
